Helping students understand complex art concepts so they feel confident in applying art techniques to their future creative projects.
In an engaging and creative student-centered environment, I foster confidence by introducing students to new artists, art styles, art history, and art elements in every course.
I provide art courses that help develop an understanding and application of artistic techniques; techniques conceptually connected to the Art Elements and Principles. The goal of these courses is for students to walk away feeling confident in applying the elements and principles to their future creative projects while learning a little about art history. I will guide the conversation through the topics using technology and interactive slides, followed by step-by-step instructions during Studio Time. Students will be encouraged to talk about their artwork once finished. During the Wrap-Up session, I will ask comprehension questions in review of the main points learned.
My style of teaching is always fun, interactive, and relaxed. We are all here to learn and have fun. :) Please note: the goal of the art created in these courses is to encourage creativity through the application of art elements using multiple mediums. Creating a perfect piece of art is NOT the purpose or goal. Students should be able to finish their art piece during class, but if not, that is OK and they can finish on their own time.
